Vintage audio restoration – WEGA JPS-350V (I)

It all started ’cause of the weather. This summer is obviously the most warm (hot) (unbearable) since I remember, and I am remembering quite a lot. However, the heat must have done some damage to my head! ;) Once, sitting, sweating and browsing eBay there was Something that seemed interesting. Why not?, I thought. Some couple of euros and hours later the awaiting for the postman began. And then, a week or so later, the huge box arrived.

Unpacking. First — out came the power cord. Now, this IS a seriously looking power cord, isn’t it?

And this is where it goes:

Obviously, the power inlet is not the only connector available:

The cover has a few dents and on the top there are imprints of the feet of stacked devices (which were stacked n top, obviously), otherwise the old (1977-1978) SONY WEGA JPS-350 V amplifier is in working order. Of course, all switches and potentiometers has to be cleaned, and the list of capacitors is already made to be purchased in Argus parts store.
